Introduction

The information on this web site is supplemental to the printed instructions that came with your water heater. To reduce the risk of property damage, serious injury or death, read and follow all labels on the water heater and the safety instructions in the printed owner's manual.

The Status Light must blink once per second for the water heater to work.

    • No tools or supplies are needed for this guide.

  2. Make sure the gas supply valve is turned ON.
    • Make sure the gas supply valve is turned ON.

  3. Make sure the Control Knob is set to Pilot and is fully pushed in (about 1/4 inch).

  4. Hold in the Control Knob while pressing the square Ignitor Button about once a second (you will hear it click).   Repeatedly press the Ignitor Button for up to 90 seconds.

    • When the pilot lights, the Status Light will begin to flash. The Status Light must flash once per second for the water heater to work.

    • If after three tries the Status Light does not flash, see Troubleshooting No Status Light.
